A fittings manufacturer from Stuttgart, focuses on quality and global growth.

Experiencing water – brand products for bathrooms and kitchens

“Experiencing water” is the philosophy for which Hansa stands. The long-established company has produced sanitary fittings for decades and today offers a broad range of bathroom and kitchen fittings, shower nozzles, shower systems and electronic convenience fittings for the private and public domain. Whether design-oriented or classical – Hansa offers suitable brand products for all requirements.

From the beginnings to the no. 1 trade brand

The Stuttgart-based company was founded in 1911 under the name of “Press- und Stanzwerke GmbH” and will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. At the beginning, it manufactured hot-pressed components, and shortly after it also produced special fittings for the airplane, automobile and engine industries. In 1921, it became a stock company and changed its name to “Hansa Metallwerke AG”.

In 1950, Hansa started producing sanitary fittings. Over many years, the sons and grandsons of its founder built the family business into the leading manufacturer in the German market. With its durable, functional products sold at a very good price/performance ratio, its proximity to both retailers and users and an extraordinary range of services, Hansa quickly became renowned as the trade brand par excellence – raising expectations that the sanitary manufacturer has come up to again and again until today. The brand stands for customer proximity, modern design, service and quality. And quality is not limited to materials, workmanship and products but equally applies to services and individual customer support up to the training courses. It is no surprise that the company was elected the specialist trade partner brand no. 1 for the 16th time in a row by “markt intern Leistungsspiegel Sanitär-Armaturen”, a survey among retailers and fitters.

Currently, Hansa has approximately 750 employees worldwide. Its headquarters in Stuttgart house the main administration and the research and development centre. The production plants, where a variety of fittings is produced every day, are located in Burglengenfeld (Bavaria, Germany) and Kralovice (Czech Republic). Hansa is represented in more than 50 countries on five continents through its subsidiaries and representative offices.

Vision: international quality leader

The grandson of the company founder and CEO of many years, Wolfram Göhring, left the management of the company in November 2009. The new directors of Hansa, Christopher Marshall and Joachim Stücke, will focus on the extension of the international operations and on investments in the production plants in Germany and the Czech Republic during the forthcoming years.

“In Germany, the company has long been renowned as the quality leader; now this strength will consistently be adapted to international growth,” says CEO Christopher Marshall. “Hansa is a strong brand with a future,” believes the new CEO. “Based on the vision to become the no. 1 brand in quality on an international level, Hansa will exploit its potentials with dedication.”

Suiting every taste and budget: Hansa’s range of products

During the 20th century, Hansa has made a name for itself with quality fittings in the lower and medium segment. In the past seven years, the manufacturer has also established itself in the top segment with its exclusive premium fittings.

In order to present its comprehensive range of products for washbasins, bathtubs and showers to the customers even more clearly, Hansa has divided its range into three segment since 2009: under the name of “Hansaedition”, the company presents its visionary design products of the premium segment – these include solitary solutions for exclusive bathrooms, which have won several renowned design prices. The “Hansaliving” segment offers a multitude of impressive variants for a modern and innovative bathroom design, which also meet the demand for sustainability. The modern functionality of the “Hansahome” segment is dominated by single-lever mixers, and the bathroom series focus on the necessary core range for standard bathrooms.

These are complemented by the comprehensive “Hansaplus” programme. It includes thermostats, nozzle and shower systems as well as bathroom accessories. Special fitting solutions for hospital and nursing purposes and commercial and public facilities complete Hansa’ bathroom range.

KWC: subsidiary with “Swiss excellence”

KWC AG, the leading Swiss manufacturer of high-grade kitchen and bathroom fittings, has formed part of the Hansa Group since 1984. With its approximately 400 employees, KWC produces and sells high-grade fittings and is represented globally in 50 countries. While Hansa is excellently positioned particularly in the bathroom segment, this is true for KWC mainly in the kitchen field. Thus, the ranges and know-how of the two companies complement each another ideally. Hansa and KWC offer concerted bathroom and kitchen competence from one source.
